I did call three references they provided and all spoke highly of Estridge Carpentry. However, I did not feel Estridge Carpentry measured up to the high praise of their references while performing the projects they did at my property. I would proceed cautiously as with any contractor and verify as many references you can get a hold of.
They also did a basement project adding a bedroom and office. Not one of them no how to perform drywall and mudding. I will have to have this work redone. Their framing skills are also questionable. Several items in the addition are not square or had to be redone. Some are not fixed now and will have to be redone.
For the pole barn I will rate Estridge Carpentry 3 Stars only because they want to do things their way and not listen to the customer. They failed to follow the contract.
For the basement and fence work I rate Estridge Carpentry 2 stars because all the mudding will have to be redone and some framing work as well. The fence poles will take time and just have to be pulled and redone.
Estridge Carpentry built a pole barn for me and let me tell you to be careful. On my project they really felt like they were building this pole barn for them and not me. When I would tell them what I want, I would sometimes get it and sometimes they chose their own direction. They strayed from the contract because they would not follow it. They did not have a solid plan on what task to perform first, so a lot of time was wasted, which ate into their profit and dragged the job out for us.
Lastly, they installed a small chain link fence (105 ft). At least three of the poles are not straight up and down. They must have not set the post correctly with enough cement or allowed proper cure time or lastly maybe they simply pulled the mesh screen so tight it bent the poles over. One of them actually said that the pole was straight and my house was crooked? I guarantee my house is not the problem.
